Do no trust the 2.1 one way mileage, it is a bit longer, the trail has been rerouted from the original. The tail bed is very rocky and a lot of tree roots. The hike in is mostly uphill with the exception of the last...More

This is a hike that is a bit more challenging than many. I’m 71 and made the hike but it was a challenge. The trail is steep for the better part of the hike and has a lot of roots making the trip difficult for...More

We stumbled across this hike in a brochure and due to its relatively short distance and promising scenery (who doesn't love a good waterfall hike?) We knew we had to check it out. Being it was the end of December and around 20 degrees the...More

Stayed at a cabin close by and hiked trails. This was especially beautiful and worth the time taken to get there.

This is a nice "off the beaten path" hike to get away from the crowds right in the Smoky Mountains. The Cosby Campground is nearby, so you may run into a few groups of hikers but it's still an overall quiet hike. We started the...More

Our family (mom, dad, two 17-year old boys and an 11 year old boy) chose Hen Wallow based on difficulty (moderate), proximity to our cabin and the cute name. The hike itself was mostly in the woods, sometimes kind of overgrown (from lack of use?),...More

I've been to this Fall twice. Both times, I've really enjoyed the 4.2 mile (round trip) adventure. I like the wide easy trail way that leads to the falls. It's a great place to picnic by the falls with friends.

The moderate hike is tough. Lots of roots/rocks and steep inclines. Drove from Pigeon Forge area and GPS took us on a terrible drive (use map and basic instincts). When we found it there were not a lot of people and it was very quite...More
