A place with stunning views can have not a very safe look out. Thisis one of the best. Do not deviate from the old worn paths and stay on course to enjoy the views.

This is a great place for a sunset view. On the day we went in mid-April it was very windy but there were dozens of Turkey Vultures enjoying the breeze below us in the canyon. Very nice view.

Lipan Point is one of the overlooks along the Desert Rim Drive (aka East Rim Drive). The point offers a panoramic view from west to east across the Grand Canyon, and there is a sign on the fence about the geologic process at work, noting that the river has cut all the way down to the granite bedrock of the area. One can also glimpse a smudge of whitewater on the Colorado River off in the distance over to the left, at the very bottom of the canyon. Another sign identifies it as Hance Rapid, and it's almost four miles away and is the height of a three-story building. Superlatives seem to fall short when one is trying to describe the Grand Canyon . . . .
When we visited, in late November, it was a clear but extremely windy and bitterly cold day; nevertheless, the view was absolutely worth the stop.

The sunset views are incredibly beautiful. Highly recommend! We came here based upon photographer recommendation and are so glad we did. It’s a pretty drive out there. We expected it not to be crowded based on reviews on here - but the parking lot does get full right at sunset. Get here early for a spot. Doesn’t feel crowded otherwise- but cars were backed up and parking it in front of “do not park” signs. Photographer said that word has gotten out and it is becoming a zoo at sunset. Definitely worth it - best views ever!

I’m so glad we listened to the reviews and the recommendation from the park rangers. This was the most beautiful sunset we have ever seen! Most were watching from the parking lot area but went down the trail to the right of the parking lot for the views.

We stopped here as part of the Canyon Ministries Tour. There was a wonderful stone outcropping that we were able to use to discuss the Canyon.

We stopped here and at another couple of viewing areas in the east of the national park and we were very glad we did. Not crowded (comparatively) and the price was right - FREE (once you've paid park entry fee some miles back, of course). The scenery is very bit as jawdropping as you would hope,

This is a smaller Viewpoint on the Desert View Road but even quite nice. There're enough parking slots and you can enjoy the view more quitely then at other view points.

This is the second stop east of the beginning of the Desert View Drive. This viewpoint gives you a unique view of the canyon you will not see from other viewpoints. And it is stunning.
