I had done this hike a few years ago with a ranger and that was great fun. Today I did it with a couple of friends with a permit. It was different but still very enjoyable. You have to get a permit and listen to...More

Ranger led tours are not available till April end but I highly encourage fit adults or families with pre-teen or teenage kids to get a permit (extra fees) and explore it. You will love it! You have to scramble rocks, go through tiny passages and...More

This was one of the best hikes we have done in Utah. Can explore many dead end canyons and see many small arches -- and even climb tiny spaces between and under rocks. Incredible they allow us to do this. Must get a permit at...More

Hiking through the fiery furnace requires a permit. The ranger guided tours are probably best for most people because it looks really easy to get lost in there! You can get nice views of it from the overlook!

I highly recommend that any able bodied and adventurous people see this incredible part of the park. The rangers station offers guided tours each day that sell out quickly and are limited in order to protect the sensitive eco-system. There is also a permitting process...More

You need a permit to hike inside the many narrow canyons created by the "flames" of the furnace (the inside of which are actually reportedly very drafty and cold) but the view is worth a turnoff on the way back from the Devil's Garden Trailhead.

Wow.... Just an incredible hike! Route finding skills and specific techniques required to pass certain trail sections. Suggestions/ help for a self-guided tour: 1) get your $6 pp permit at the ranger station, watch the video, listen to the ranger's instructions. The hike takes about...More

Wow! This hike had some real challenges, not the least of which is finding the small arrows to guide you! (We had to double back more than a few times to see where we missed the trail). This time of year it's permit only and...More

First make sure you sign up for this hike as early as you can at the Visitor's Center. It takes a couple of days to get into the ranger led hike. $16 for adults, and senior pass holders and children $8. You can also get...More
