This trail really took a while to do and had some of climbing / iron rungs / bridges. It was a fun hike and some level of difficulty. It did not take you all the way up to the cliff tops which I had anticipated...More

We set out on this trail about 8am and were pretty much the only ones on it for quite a long time. It is challenging with some iron rungs along the way, but not in a way that feels death defying--just strenuous. Once we got...More

Started on the Gorham trail and turned to cliffs trail! I am not one for cliff hiking, but I was okay with this. There are a few spots the are a little more than I am used to, but overall I'm so glad we took...More

This was one of my favorite hikes during our Acadia trip (along with Beehive). There was a spot or two that I found a bit intimidating due to exposure while on a very narrow ledge, but I had so much fun and in the end...More

this was a great 3.4 mi hike around Jordan Pond. Well marked but a little tricky in spots. There were rocks to climb over and a long raised wooden plank trail over a boggy area. The pond and scenery around it were beautiful

If you like the "iron rungs" trails in Acadia, give this one a try. You'll find yourself far from the crowds. Great views of Jordan Pond and the Bubbles. Take the branch to East Penobscot trail for a spectacular 360 degree vista. Challenging and rewarding.

like Precipice & Beehive, lots of iron & ladders on this trail. You need to have good level of fitness to tackle this trail. Smaller children & older folks will likely be challenged and therefore go pretty slow. Find a time in the spring or...More

We spent the whole day here. The hiking was great for all ages. We got sandwiches from the take out deli and were ready for day.

Mr Wings and I both are not fond of heights at all, so... we were hesitant to do this trail, but we made it! There are exposed areas and rungs. I HATE ladders, so I expected the rungs to be my worst area. They were...More

This trail was a hidden gem for my wife and I. We did the Precipice trail as well, and this one is somewhat similar, but with far fewer people. If you want breathtaking views, iron rungs to climb, sheer cliffs, and a good challenge without...More
