whether a novice (me) or expert, this Park Ranger-guided bird walk is worth getting up early for! Ranger Andrew Wolfgang is a super-knowledgeable ornithologist. Bring good binoculars, though he has entry-level ones to loan out, if needed.

Lots of birds to see but the Sierra de Monts area is probably the best, especially in the morning. Many of the warblers are high in the trees, but they also come to visit beside the boardwalk.

Given that we were birding in late August, our guide had a challenge finding *many* birds. However, he was very knowledgeable about birding and he was also very good at explaining basics to the beginners in the group. On this trip, which started near the...More

We went birding with the guide from the Nature Center. He was prepared and presented interesting commentary. We did see a number of birds on the walk. We stayed in the harbor area and on the Shore path.

Bring along your binoculars and Bird Book, because you are in for a treat if you take pretty much any of the trails in the Park. There are a variety of birds who live here year-round and many who stop by on their way to...More
