We visited Agios Dionisios Church yesterday. The outside of the church is very plain compared to the inside. Richly decorated and very humbling to see the visitors crossing themselves repeatedly and kissing the religious paintings. Worth visiting.

A beautiful church which is a must see. Keep your shoulders covered. There is a place to buy candles in remembrance of loved ones. They hold services regularly which may be going on whilst you look around

Beautifull interiors of the church. Must see when on the island. Museum nearby is cery well prepared. Descriptions maybnot be best to read but it is up to the visitor.

Just nipped in while in Zante town well worth a look around if you are visiting the town.If you visit by bus from Laganas there is a bus stop by the church that saves you walking back to the main bus station.

A magnificent building, and the music ( I think it was a recording) added to the atmosphere. I’d recommend a visit.

This is a really lovely built and old church. Really beautiful paintings and they also have the body of Dionisios inside... covered in a silver coffin.

Always open and welcoming - the iconography and architecture are beautiful. Make sure you are respectful of church rules - women should not wear shorts.

Well worth a visit if you're in Zante town. Very modern exterior but with a traditional feel inside. Gold everywhere! Also contains the casket of the patron saint of the island.

It's great having this on trip advisor as it can help us planning trips to know what's there to see! St Dionysius is the patron Saint if Zakynthos and also the Patron saint of forgiveness. His story is amazing! I understand... More
