The Kustendorf Film Festival is held annually in Drvengrad. You really won't see too many signs for Kustendorf other than for the film festival which is held in early January. We stopped here after visiting the Sargan Eight Railway which is nearby.

What a marvelous place and lovely nature. Mecavnik is great etno village. Service was great, and we loved everything about Mecavnik.

Kustendorf is the same as Mecavnik. When you go by car ... not easy to find. You never see 'Kustendorf'. Look for 'Mecavnik'. It's in neighbourhood of trainstation.

This is clearly a film set repurposed as a tourist attraction. It reminded me greatly of the Popeye set on Malta for its artificiality. That said, I haven’t seen the film in question so maybe that would help. We avoided the popular restaurant in favour of a quiet one called Visconti - this proved a smart move.…
