The pool is cool, the ambiance is great. You would really love the place. what I really don't like is the one at the registration named "judith" she's so mataray in speaking. If you're at the registration area you should be as cool as possible. We are customers you don't have to talk to us that way. I've in POOTEN many times and I'm not the only person who made complain about her. There are a lot. I thought she owns the place but sad to say she's just one of the secretary of Pooten. Better behave young lady and better talk nicely to your customers. When they try to correct you, be corrected and never make taray.

GOOD POINTS:
1. heated kiddie pool.
2. nice and big pools.
3. they are strict with swim wear which i like, because some people use house clothes for swimming. this makes palm grove different form riverview. this policy makes the resort "sosy".
4. a lot of life guards
5. a family oriented resort.
6. even on a weekend, the resort is not so crowded.
BAD POINTS:
1. the cottages are far from the swimming pools
2. no TV in the room
TARIFF RATES:
entrance fee is 100. picnic shed for 10-12 is 200.
day rate room ( good for 4) -1,800
over night rate (good for 4) -2,500
(good for 8)- 5,500

Pooten's Resort is the newest additon to the increasing number of resorts at Asin Hot Springs.
There were less than 10 huts available at the time we were there and all were occupied. It was a weekend and there was a scheduled huge meeting in one of the seminar venues hence, the place was packed.
Entrance fee was P80 for adults and P40 for children. (accurate at the time of our visit- January 2013)
There's a common kitchen complete with basic amenities. Condiments were also available (salt, ketchup etc). Griller was free to use.
What I love the most is the availability of a stove which you can use. Note: they charge a small fee for the use of the stove. We cooked pancit, fried lumpia and chicken. Had these been cooked at home before the trip, the lumpia and chicken would have lose their crispness/crispiness come lunch time.

Apparently, there are 3 different “hotsprings” in Asin town: Sinot Hotspring, Palm Grove Hotsprings and Asin Pooten Hostpring. They’re all near each other.
There’s an apparent confusion as the photos in this section are a combination of Palm Grove and Asin Pooten so let me clarify them the best I can.
Let’s start with Sinot. Our vehicle was blocked entering the road (see photo) and it seems the place has been closed for quite some time. When we asked the locals (we were having lunch in the local eatery), they mentioned the ownership is being contested by the indigenous communities in the area and thus while its being disputed, Sinot is entirely closed. There is a small-ish pool near the main road devoid of any signs but packed with locals at P100 per entry but it’s not hotspring. No parking.
Palm Grove is adjacent to the small-ish pool. While it’s much larger, have better maintained grounds, huge parking area and bigger pools, the water is not hot nor from a hotspring. Entry is 120 pesos per person. We went in to check and found the water cool to the touch.
Asin Pooten is about 2-3 minutes away by car. The place is walkable but the lack of sidewalk and steep curving of the mountain makes it’s dangerous especially with the fast vehicles speeding along this road. The place is larger than Palm Spring - more pools and parking. Outdoor table is P200 and cottage is P500 (which we took) on top of the entry fee of 150 each. It was packed of people when we visited. There are 3-4 big pools but none are hotspring. The only one that’s “hot” is a small circular pool that can fit 10 people and it’s dirty. You do not want to soak in it all. The warm water is continuously pumped into the pool by one hose that seems to be coming from somewhere. That’s it.
The term “hotspring” is loosely adapted here. While the water may indeed be from a hotspring, the intensity of the hotness is not enough to fill several swimming pools. The rest of the pools in the area are fed with normal saline stagnant water. God knows when it was last replaced.
So here’s the summary:
- Are these places really hotspring? No.
- Is the water from a hotspring? For Asin Pooten, only 1 small pool. Others are normal water
- Is it worth the trip? No
It seems there’s a place called Asin Hotspring and the photos seem to be different. We didn’t go to that one so any reviews would be great.

We went to Palm Grove last month with some friends. There were about 30 of us so we rented 2 dorm rooms so the boys got lodged in one room, girls in another room. The rooms looked nice until bed time. The pillows, blankets, and sheets stank. There's only one fan for a big room for 15 people. We soon found out that they do not wash the blankets and sheets after use when the housekeeper told us that we had to return the pillows and blankets in the plastic bags. We were charged P100 for each plastic bag that's missing. What a rip off! To my chagrin, the staff were very indifferent and unresponsive to our comments and suggestions. We were also charged P100 for the soiled bed sheet. For a non-air conditioned room, we paid more than what we can get from its neighbor resort, Riverview. In the morning there's a whiff of swine stink not to mention the noise those pigs create. The bath area is detached from the dorm. So you have to go down 2 flights, walk past a garden to take a shower. The lap pool doesn't live up to its promise. In the morning there's this super cocky japanese looking, steroid injected looking guy who conducts swimming lessons. He brings his class consists of small kids aged 4-8 and some adults. The pool sign says, "Lap pool only. Kids and beginners not allowed." So we got booted out of the pool disappointed that we didn't get to do as much laps as we liked. This place is pricey and doesn't live up to the promise of a mountain resort. I give it 3 out of 10 score.

It was the day after New Year that we went there with my family, for the purpose of family reunion/recreation in which we do it once in a blue moon. As we arrived there, the ambiance of the mansion(or white house) was very elegant and welcoming. I think this resort used to be a private property as confirmed from my reliable resources. As we entered, the parking lot is wide enough for 10-20 cars. Caretakers are there to guide you, they are accommodating and hospitable. There is only one big pool ( bean shaped) which is designed for both kids and adults, There are two hot springs: One in which is just beside the bean shaped pool, which has its cool design because it has its own elegant roofing structure, and the other one is on the back side of a well-designed public shower. It was so crowded when we went because it was midst of a holiday season obviously.I didn't enjoy much of the pool because it was only one. I wish they could have more pool (with slides also I hope) so that they could attract more customers. The hot spring is good enough, we really enjoyed relaxing just by soaking your whole body in minutes. But you should not over soaked yourself because you'll get dizzy afterwards. If you really want to feel the nature's natural cool water, the river is just beside the resort. I was surprised that they even created stairs going to the river, for customer's comfort going down the river as well. You can swim on the river all you want but remember some parts of the river is deep and slippery judging on the moss accumulating on the big stones. I enjoyed taking pictures as I am navigating alone at the river. You can also sun bath there, just choose your own stone to lie at and voila! Wear your sunglass and play your mp3 and it will soothe you from the noise of the crowd (If you don't love crowd much just as I do). The over all appearance of the resort is simple but very elegant and stylish, You can really see that it is always well maintained except for the comfort room in which the flush is not functional. As for the cottage, you can choose from the simple kubo in which it was not that distant from the pool location. You can also hire the first floor of the white house if you are bulk in numbers in which I don't know the price. Oh and I remember I think you can also the hire the first floor for seminar or retreat purposes but you have to inform the resort beforehand for reservation. There are also one mini building beside the mansion in which you can hire as well. The washing are and public shower are functional. You can also do grilling there. Over all, it is very good for a family destination. But a less adventurous for group who wants slides and more pool to ponder. But still a good place to go over all.I forgot the fees because we were treated free of charge that day :))

Although not all the resort on the area have the same level of excellence with their service and facilities, i find this resort really nice and clean. The were enough swimming pools, bathrooms and cottages to accommodate guest. Price is cheap although their additional zipline option is quite expensive, i would suggest they lower their price or add more features to it for the price they are charging. All in all, i would recommend this place to people looking for a place to relax away from the busy, expensive and common tourist destination.

we went there yesterday and we were so much in need of an electric source to have our brewed coffee hot and ready. the receptionist was not so friendly. they were only concerned about collecting money from their customers. a very sad thing because I have been to the UK and I know for one that the Pooten's are a very accommodating and kind people. they help a lot of Filipinos. they are not so greedy about money as far as I am able to realise from my experience in England with them. it is sad that those employees in the resort they own in Asin are the opposite. for some reason, they said initially they will charge 30 pesos to have our connection to an electric source be made available and only to later hear that it is jacked up to 300 pesos for having an electric source for our coffee to be prepared by ourselves using our own equipment. good if they will serve it to us ready and hot so we may consider the service charge but it is to our DISMAY that we had to be subject to such INCONVENIENCE by those employees. they were not even gracious enough to explain it with a smile so we may understand the reason why they are implementing such rules. all the other resorts in the area have built in sockets in them. WHY IS IT THAT THIS RESORT DO NOT HAVE ONE? I AM SO BOTHERED AND DISGUSTED.

Pooten's resort is the latest addition to the number of vacation destinations in Barangay Asin, Tuba, Benguet. The locals call the resort as "white Mansion" or "white house" because of the big white colored building with a mansion style design in the entrance of the resort. According to the caretakers, the resort was supposedly for the Pooten family as a private vacation house. Since there where so many requests to use the pool for some private functions as well as requests from friends, relatives and others, the owners decided to open it to the public, thus came the Pooten Resort.
The resort charges a minimal amount as entrance fee for the use of the pool. I think it was less than P100 for adults and half for children.
The mountain resort offers one swimming pool and numerous hot tubs. They also have an "open cooking" system where you can rent for a small fee the use of the cooking area. It is good to bring your own food and just cook it there. There was also a private bar and function room.
Over-all, Pooten's resort is a good family destination especially for people of the mountains because of that cozy at home feeling.
Hopefully someday we can do a full review of this resort.

Asin Hot Spring is located 16 kilometers away from Baguio City. It is set amidst tall mountains.
If you take the jitney, 45 minutes is the shortest possible time to travel. The jitney station is located a stone cast away from the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) and the fire station. You won’t miss it because our “barker/dispatcher” will surely catch your attention. Be sure to take the jitney bound to Asin Hot Spring and not the one going to Asin Road (Or you will end up walking 10 more kilometers to arrive to the place).
Okay, the jitney has started and you are now on your way. The jitney passes through Naguilian Road, and then yields before Cooyesan Hotel Plaza. After a few minutes, you will see Woodcarving Village. Woodcrafts are displayed along the roads and if you have a chance, you can stop by and watch the villagers carve images from wood. Travelers usually enjoy the whole trip going to Asin because of the beautiful mountain scenery displayed throughout the trip. Two waterfalls wait to awe the visitors. Many passersby didn’t fail to enjoy the thrill of passing through two tunnels. Even for a short time, you will experience being underground.
Then you are finally in Asin. There are 5 resorts to choose from depending on preference, budget and availability. Entrance fee to the resorts starts from 40-60 pesos for kids and 80-100 pesos for adults. Most of the resorts have complete amenities like restaurants, hotels and souvenir shops.
People who have tight budgets choose to go to the river instead. The water is clean and clear, no rules and you can even enjoy nature at its best. You can even bring your fishing rods with you. And of course, there isn’t any entrance fee! Just don’t forget to bring your picnic mats because there aren’t any tables waiting for you.
Lastly, be sure to be at the jitney station in the center of Asin before 4 pm. The last trip leaves at 4:00 or even earlier.
