To find the start of the walk, drive from the village of Autoire. It's a winding road up hill about two kilometres with the sight of the impressive rock to the right. Parking at Siran, also signposted to the ferme (Angora goats) Lovely walk to...More

We cycled down the side of the cirque into the village. Definitely worth a visit. The architecture and quaint roofs, particularly, are delightful. The church is brilliant in hot weather! ;-) There is a good circular walk around the top of the village, if you...More

Lovely area to explore. groves of walnut trees, meadows, barley fields. Autoire is full of fascinating architecture; surprisingly numerous manoirs, and chateaux for such a small village, and a great restaurant opposite a wine merchant keen to offer tasting. You can walk to the waterfall...More

We discovered a new car park, I guess built by the Marie in Loubressac. Leaving Loubressac, follow the road due south passing the campsite, for about two miles you come upon a minor road with signage (very small signage) on the left which includes the...More

Autoire is easy to find of the D38. Not far from Bretenoux. An ancient French town that is perfectly preserved. One small Logis hotel in the centre. Nice 2k walk to a waterfall and back. Lovely local wine shop where we bought some great Malbec.

If you are in the area this is one of the places not to miss, sitting in the bottom of a small limestone valley, it is probably one the most photographed places in the area. There is a waterfall further up the valley and you...More

Lovely little village with interesting architecture of many years past. It not high architecture but very pretty all the same. The waterfall (cascade) is well worth the visit - but is very busy with people taking snaps. After wet weather I'm sure the cascade would...More

Beautiful little village, so common in France. After a little walk around the village and waterfall visit don't forget to visit viewing point above the Autoire. You can go by a car from Autoire to a little hamlet called Siran. There is a free parking...More
