i took my two daughters up to the mine from Luosto. We caught the snow cat pulling the pandalino (sorry if not spelled correctly) and had the most wonderful time. Very informative and entertaining at the same time. The prefect afternoon trip.

A wonderful ride to the top if the fells by snowmobile/sled or pendolino. The scenery is outstanding. A very instructive talk re amethyst and how it's mined before you descend into the mine to find your own stone.

Interesting info on the geology of amethysts, a beautiful view, and digging for amethysts is strangely addictive. No one goes home empty-handed. It was a nice walk over from the hotel area and a good way to occupy a couple hours.
