My grandma lived near this place, so each summer when I would visit Taiwan, I would go here frequently. Managed by Taiwan Forestry Research Institute, this garden is open to the public for leisure, but the institute also does scientific research. It is not like...More

The Garden is divided into separate sections; for example Palms, Bamboos, Significant plants in Buddhist culture etc. There are also extensive Lotus ponds. My visit to the gardens was very enjoyable: a lovely contrast to the hustle and bustle of Taipei. Interestingly enough, I was...More

Not quite the right season for great blooms, but spent an hour wandering around out of the heat. Wouldn't make a special trip unless the lillies were out.

The lotus flowers open early in the morning, it’s quite amazing to see so many of them, I alway love to see the flowers also enjoy eating the seeds and roots of the lotus flowers.

Beautiful gardens - many plant species. Great spot to just stroll and relax. A lake is there with benches - good for bird and people watching.

The Botanical Garden is near the centre of Taipei. It's a good place to chill. The flowers and trees are nice, but the lotus flowers are truly beautiful. The lotus flower is a symbol of purity in Buddhism.

The best is the Lotus flower Basin when they are in bloom. The remaining of the gardens is a nice place to have a stroll.

This isn't "full bloom" time of the year, yet the gardens were wonderful. The grounds are tranquil and verdant, and you can still smell the wisteria and earliest jasmine, even though the plumeria (frangipani) is bald and the Lily ponds haven't been flooded.

Taipei Botanical gardens seems to get mixed reviews on TA, and I guess it depends on your expectations. Firstly, it's free entry, so that already means one can't be too critical. The garden is roughly divided into different sections - there is a succulents area,...More
