The Airport MRT departs from the Taipei Main Station. There are two schedules -- the express andd the train that stops at more stations, which is slower. It's a very convenient and punctual. By the way, you must have an MRT card. If you don't have a a card, you will have to buy one and it will cost you more.

Taoyuan International Airport is the biggest and the busiest airport in Taiwan. This nice and clean airport is the main gate of this country, it's connected with various type of public transportation modes.

This major international airport is beautifully designed for shopping, rest areas, fun areas for children, a library, wifi availability. There are also restaurants, coffee shops.

Having plenty of time before my flight, I walked some sections of the airport taking pictures of the shops and rest areas, creatively designed. The airport endeavors to display the special culture & wildlife of Taiwan.

Taoyuan mrt provides another affordable option to reach Taipei City other than buses. Clean and easy to navigate, a godsend for Budget travellers.

This airport is super clean. We stopped over here for our connecting flight going to San Francisco. The only thing I wish they have is i hope they have a charging cubicles where you can charge your phone. We were at gate 9.

Heads up! When you are travelling with someone who is mobility challenged, travelling through Taoyuan can be a challenge and a pain. Much like Singapore Changi, all the terminals piers are connected by miles long gate corridors that can really make getting to a gate or immigration a real challenge. Order a wheelchair or cart through the airline you are travelling on.
Other than that, the airport is interesting. Tons of duty free and expensive shops are all over the place, but decent food outlets. What really makes this airport rather interesting, is that all gates (at least in Terminal 2) are made up as set designs advertising different famous regions or attractions in the country. These gate entrances are more like a reception area....for those waiting for the actual gate to open. You actually head downstairs to wait in the gate waiting area. I have never seen this gate attraction set design done at any other airport. See photos.

My friend and I landed at different terminals at Taoyuan International Airport, however there is a SkyTrain between terminals that you can take. The arrivals area in both terminals were unimpressive, we left Taoyuan Airport via the MRT to Taipei Main Station, for a cost of NT$150 and took 40 minutes very efficient! The departure hall is much nicer and the airport just opened up the fifth floor, this is the best part of the airport!
