Just a road with old houses. Some are well decorated but noting real impressive. From the pictures we googled is totally different from what you would get.

Reception told us to visit here in the evening. Yes it was good choice to be there in the dark. Pretty lanterns made the atmosphere more exotic and pretty. Small street but beautiful with small local shops. The most cutest street in Tainan.

A quaint and interesting street and alleys with lots of nice architecture, novel shops, and cafes. Worth a visit.

It’s a very short street but the views are interesting. Some really old architecture, houses, designs in addition to some novel stuff. Lots of small shops and eats. The two-story housing is very interesting. Unlike the French style, yet it has its lure and charm....More

Quiet and pleasant to stroll through in the evening. Doesn’t feel like the usual streets of Tainan due to the architecture. Some unique stalls in this passage way. The street is very close to A-Chung eel noodles.

This street reminds me of ancient streets in Kyoto. Narrow streets comprise of two floor buildings, strong Japanese influences and the old historic buildings have mostly been converted into modern shops with cultural offering including handicrafts, local cuisine, coffee shops and B&B. There are a...More

A short wander through the street with a guide book enables you to get a sense of the history of the area. Being totally renovated - one of the last factories - a furniture factory still operating but otherwise becoming gentrified. The place had a...More

Shennong street becomes a nighttime street market with stands and restaurants. It gets crowded in the evening with lots of choices for dinner.

We were expecting this to be a highlight but Tainan and this street, underwhelmed us. When we visited on a Thursday not much was open, so it was a brief stroll down the street looking at the buildings. If in Tainan you should obviously go...More

The West Central District is the most populous and the
busiest area. A lot of shops and hotels crowd the
district, and the long-standing history results in a
variety of street food. In addition to that, this
district also has the highest number of temples. This
is how it got the name “Tainan’s Pantheon.” Historic
buildings are literally ubiquitous. For example,
