qixingtan is one of the few popular tourist attraction in hualien county, it will be filled with tourists/locals. Be reminded not to pick any pebbles home as it is not allowed !

The bicycle trail around Qixing Lake (theres no lake) but is actually on the ocean side. (Lake was filled up many years ago, in order to build nearby airport). Great views, woth the ride!

A great way to explore Hualien city is by cycling to the beach and back. Be sure to apply sunblock, as the sun can be brutal after hours of biking.

The beach was beautiful. It was covered with round pebbles instead of sand. Nice place to chill. However it is more of a sight seeing place

The sands and stones on the beach are white, which is pretty amazing. You must walk around the beach.

You can take a bus or taxi from Hualien Train Station. It's very close to the station. I am not sure if you can rent a bike at the lake, but there are many places close to the train station where you can hire bikes... More
