The Japanese style village where been preserved by Taiwan. The nice place to visit, walk around and see the wooden building. All houses have been turned to be souvenir shops. Recommend to visit once if you have free time in Chaiyi.

It is a peaceful area with old Japanese-style houses built from Hinoki wood, hence its name. It has shops and small gardens. I love the roses there. Lots of tourists and worth a visit.

I've been here twice now and had a great time each time. It can get very packed with tourists but it's a nice place to walk around and see the restored Japanese wooden buildings, especially during the cooler seasons. Some people dress up in kimonos...More

The Japanese-style buildings are nice and unique. The village was originally the dormitories of the Chiayi Forest division of Forestry Bureau of the Taiwan Governor General Office during the Japanese rule of Taiwan. It's a good place for strolling.

Consider a new attraction in Chiayi. Not far away from Liyaou Hotel. Went there on weekdays and see group of tourists. Is a very hot day and no shelter unless we walk into the houses. Interesting place to shop.

Not many people during weekdays. Quite a few shops to buy souvenirs. An interesting place for sightseeing. If you spend a little money to rent a kimono, you will experience something different in your trip.
