While walking through the park, there are many very old trees. Tree number 28 is over 2000 years old. The walkways are very nice and in good condition. There are many steps that need to be climbed.

The best way to do the shenmu trail is to approach it from the Alishan House. Then walk downwards towards the Shenmu Train Station. This way you are walking downwards and can see the old trees from a higher vantage point. Then buy a ticket...More

Amazing big trees numbered 1 to 33 (this figure could be wrong). Today, number 28 seems to be the biggest. At the Shen Mu Station, you can see an older one, but dead. Take a casual walk along the well-maintained board walk.

You can reach this place riding the Alishan Train. This place is filled by giant trees as old as 1000+ years. There are signboard clearly stated age of the older trees. From the train station, there are proper wooden pathways where you can follow accordingly....More

In high mountain, you can find to see the very big tree about 1,000 years old. Interesting to hiking on plentiful forest.

Giant tree Number 28. Age of tree 2000 years old! 16 AD. Magnificent tree. Cannot imagine a tree with that history. It probably has seen through many human events and natural changes in our Mother Nature.

Alishan is such a great place and the forests make it so appealing. This trail or boardwalk is filled with super tall and old Cypress trees. It somewhat reminded me of the Redwood Forest in California. It’s not as impressive but in Asia, it is...More
