Breathtaking views at the top of the cable car on the sun mountain station for all of Ha Long Bay. Probably the only place to have panoramic 360 views.
Cost 500k dong and was worth the price. Other activities include a zen garden with koi, slide and some musical performances.
No real food options up there so eat beforehand.

Arrived at Dragon park at 9.
30 am on Saturday 22nd October, thought the place was closed as there were no queues at the ticket booths! Bought our tickets for 100,000 Vnd & entered the park. I couldn't believe it, It was like a ghost town. We didn't have to queue for any of the rides (little dragons flight, Elephant falls ........etc) We had just finished the Dodgems ride & were heading for the Dragons Run ride when the park was invaded by hundreds of school students, mainly teenagers. There was a long queue for the dragon's run ride so we decided to have lunch. After lunch the boys queued up for the Dragon run & me & my wife rode the monorail around the park. On meeting the boys we found they had made friends with some Vietnamese students who wanted to practise their English. (Everywhere we went on our trip the Vietnamese people were so friendly & helpful. ) After a fairly long chat we managed to make our way to the bird show at 15.00. On leaving the bird show we discovered that all the students were exiting the park so my son's had another ride on dragon's run as there wasn't a queue. We left the park at 15.45. A fabulous day & very cheap. It was a shame the Queen cable was closed for maintenance during our visit. Maybe we can return in the future but not in October or November.

I was told they had 2 different admission prices. $350,000 dong with the cable car and $200,000 without it. We paid the higher price for the cable car. We rode up to that park where the first ride we went to was closed. We were also told everything was included but we went to see a 12D movie and were told that was $80,000 dong. The games were extra money also. We rode 2 rides and thought it might rain so we'll take the cable car back to the other park so we could try and get that in. When we arrived we were sad to find out that not only does that park close from 12:00 to 1:30pm, which is never mentioned, but there was 2 different park down there each requiring a seperate $200,000 dong admission each. WOW! But even if you wanted to pay they were closed for the next 1 1/2 hours. I went to customerservice and explained our situation. All I asked is to be able to ride the cable car back up to the park we had paid for and we were denied re-entry . The park was deserted this day. Very few customers. what would it have been for them to open a chain and let us on the car. But we were denied saying we had already spent our time there, all of which was 90 minutes. I kid you not. Just terrible customer service and a major fail on their part. So buyer beware as this is not an honest company in my opinion

Do not come here if you’re not Asian.
Me and my partner (both from the UK) came to the water park and did the cable cart. We spent a few hours in the water park and if you’re a white female I do not recommend it, you’ll spend the whole day getting stared at (and i mean STARED at) by both men and woman.
Both me and my partner each weigh around 70kg/11 stone (pretty average I think). And at the top of every slide they have scales for you to stand on in front of everyone to make sure your not to heavy for the rides (the rides have a 100kg weight limit) and forgive me if I’m wrong but a 70kg person does not look 100kg.
They asked me and my partner on most rides to stand on the scales…. I understand the health and safety but 100kg. Really…. A bit rude I think, especially to ask a woman. Some of the life guards are screwed as they’re bigger than me and my partner put together. (No I’m not joking either).
I realised afterwards why we didn’t see any other white people the whole time we was there.
So if your not a twig and weigh anything above 10/11 stone (70 kg) expect to be asked to stand on scales before you go down the slide.
And if your white. Be prepared to be stared at the whole day.

If you’re in Bay Chai, you’ll probably find yourself asking “what is that Ferris wheel up there”?
Well; that’s Sun World.
We stumbled across the entrance to Sun World and before we knew it, we were on a double decker cable cart carrying 400 people up to the park. I heard this cable cart is the tallest in the world.
The park is really fun, there are plenty of attractions and there are water puppet shows which are native to Vietnam, and worth a watch.
I would suggest a night time visit as the city lights are beautiful from the wheel.

So, I had to give an average score to the entire complex even though the complex really consists of three unique parks/attractions. We did not do the cable car to the large Ferris wheel. That's the one of the three we didn't do. We did, however, do the water park and the amusement park.
For starters, the complex often has a combo ticket to allow access to multiple areas of the complex at a reduced price - except they don't offer this on weekends even though none of their literature indicates this. As I stood in line waiting to buy my own tickets, I heard person after person ask for a combo only to be told they don't exist. It's annoying but Sun Group could afford to be kinder to the "little people." So, we bought tickets for two parks.
We started in the morning with the amusement park (Dragon Park). It's not huge but it's very well-done. It has two pretty great roller coasters - one suspended and the other standard but very intense!! There are also other thrilling rides like the Rhino Sling and one other that was insane. But, most of the park is much more family-friendly. The atmosphere was calm and friendly. The park was very clean and well cared for. We had a great time.
In the afternoon, we went to the water park. I have to say that as much as I'm a huge fan of water parks, this one annoyed me from the beginning. The tickets were quite expensive. Each of the rides seemed to have a different set of rules. But, customers don't learn those rules until they have climbed the steps to the top of the towers. Some rides randomly didn't allow watches, others necklaces. One one ride, the staff was even worried about the buttons on a customer's bathing suit. We got the sense that the staff was just really irritated and on power trips. In the end, we left early and went to the beach. And this is from someone who LOVES waterparks.
Also, there was almost NO shade so the walkways were scorching hot on bare feet!
While the slides were modern and interesting, the overall experience was not great.

Enjoy the guiness world record holder queen cable car across ha long bay. Takes you to a water puppet show, koi fish pond, bonsai japanese garden, samurai slide and ferris wheel (gives excellent view of ha long). Activities to do for kids as well. A must during a ha long trip.

We had a bunch of fun! We went on the off season and there was pretty much no one in the park. We had so much fun, there was no lines, no waiting just jumped on all the rides.

We went to Ha Long for the boat trip, and wondered "what else is there to do here with the kids"? We drove past Sun World, and decided to check it out. Whether the amusement park or the cable car ride, the inexpensive tickets are all-in... you can visit everything; take in all the rides; and there was never much of a line for anything. The Water Puppet Show at the top of the hill is in Vietnamese, but you don't need to understand Vietnamese to follow the plot and be entertained. Brilliant performance.

Is the park open every day of the week?
I know it is currently closed due to COVID19, just wondering for the future.

It is best to stay in halong. Travel to halong, stay in hotel for 2 nights. First afternoon you can take cable car and then enjoy one of the many superb seafood restaurants in Halong. Hotel can book a full day cruise the next day (much longer cruise than day trip from Hanoi or even 2 day 1 night cruise) more seafood and back to Hanoi thế next day. You will see more and it will probably be cheaper than a 2 day 1 night trip. I can recommend the Alex hotel in halong.
Is dragon park open even on weekdays, like Thursday? Does online booking of tickets cheaper or just the same when buying on the spot? How much? Hope you'll respond ASAP. My family planning to go this coming Thursday. Thanks!

Hi, I remember our hotel staff saying its open on all days, we ourselves had visited on a Saturday. Points to remember, it gets shut by 8 pm, the best time to go is around 2-3 pm. Again the Hotel staff said the best place to get the tickets were at the counter. The online price at Trip Adviser is more expensive by 25% as I believe they are giving you round transfer also. Do get the combined tickets with the cable car and visit the Mystic Mountain complex too(Ferris Wheel, Toboggan, Great Views, Cable Car, Gaming Arcade).

Bonjour,
