We did a 10 mile out and back hike to the beach. Very good trail, not too hard, varied and green, good mix of sun and shade. You could easily spend many hours on the beach exploring all the nooks and crannies and tide pools....More

Loved the big rocks, the walls of the cliffs (?) seemed sculptured. I guess that's where they got the name from :). The colors in the walls were interesting to look at, as well. Saw a few sea lions poking their heads out occasionally and...More

We stopped here after our West Marin Food and Farm Tour. Just a quick stop to see a couple of elephant seals lounging on the beach.

this section of the Pacific coast seashore is popular, yet not crowded. The cliffs are crumbly enough that it's advised to avoid walking on the tops of them. There is a trail up behind the cliffs, but we preferred walking the beach (below them)

Sculptured Beach is contiguous with Limantour Beach; hiking both will take about 3 to 4 hours round trip. The water is frigid but the scenery makes for a perfectly pleasant walk. Take the Laguna Trail to the Fire Lane Trail to the beach entrance.
