A most remarkable place, where you can take a tour on the floating platform to watch live lobsters in their natural habitat. Also you see a lot of different fish species swimming in the pond where the lobsters live. The museum shop is also great.

Visited the area out of season but it offered a great view and relaxing walk from the ferry on this car-less island. Makes for a great Sunday tur.

Espevær is well-worth a vist while visiting Western Norway/Bømlo. The Hummerparken: Lobster House used to hold lobsters on their way to the market-place. There are still fish and lobsters in the enclosure. Espevær is an Island with no roads or cars, just walking paths going through the little village. Most of the houses have beautiful gardens. The Lobster House also has a small raft one can take with friends, so you can see directly into the water and maybe spot a lobster or fish. You pull it along the side of the long building with a rope. Great for kids. This place is found along a path which leads to the UFO-circle (this mysteriously appeared in 1975 and the large oval mark has never left), the Baadehuset (a small museum with a presentation about the History of Espevær and this tavern), small restaurants, a small grocery store, boat harbour, etc. Lots to see and do for a day visit. Some cabins and house can also be rented.…
