When in Laerdal, you should visit this place, that is easily visible from the main road. Especially on a cloudy and spooky day! You can have great photo opportunities there. Just stroll around the small roads to see the old buildings and the beautiful houses.

When staying in Lærdal it is nice to have a walk in this area. Unfortunately the shops were all closed when we visited (official holiday), but the just walk was still very nice.

42 buildings in the old part of town burnt down in a major fire in 2014 - and several more were damaged, and while there are no visible traces for the untrained eye, it's noticeable the old part is thinned out. Nonetheless, the ones left...More

Gamle Lærdalsøyri has everything going for it in terms of location and old and quaint buildings, but that is about it. Went there mid-season and the entire place was as bustling as a ghost town. There is literally nothing to see here, apart from a...More

I intended to stop & walk this town having read reviews, but rain on the day instead kept me to a slow drive and brief stop. The buildings stand out-of-the-usual along this National Route drive. I have no doubt i would have enjoyed stretching my...More

The old part of this town looks like a Sergio Leone western movie set. It is so nice and cozy but also you have the idea of being in a abandoned village. Very nice to visit. Pretty unique place.

This is a small part of Laedal. Some houses are quite cute. Unfortunately, on the day we were there (Sunday), the town was so quite. I wish there are more shops opened that day. We spent only half an hour there (and a bit more...More

Hi, there is a bus that takes about 1 hour to get there from Flåm (a route bus with 14 stops). This website is a route planner in Norway (you can change the language to English). Just google "Reiseplanlegger Norge"
