Most vistors bypass Nawalgarh when visiting the Havelis, but that’s a mistake. This is a great little town with very beautiful buildings. Some are in great need of conservation and they need visitors and general interest. I would recommend you stay in Mandawa and visit...More

The haveli is quite interesting, probably because it was the first one that we visited. There were obvious signs of inadequate maintenance. It is also not very large. You can see nicer havelis in Nawalgarh.

After visiting havelis at Mandawa, and Dundlod, this haveli offered nothing great. They must exhibit some artefacts of the bygone era which will add character to this place.

The Morarka family has undertaken considerable effort to restore this Haveli and document its history. A must visit if one is in Nawalgarh.

I visited the Morarka Haveli in 2015. It is challenging to drive in Nawalgarh to get to these painted havelis. The roads, if you wish to call them that, are narrow and potholed. Some of these potholes look like giant craters! If your driver is...More
