It’s a surprise to find such a beautifully presented museum in a small village in central France, but the location is right in the center of prehistoric flint production which were expertly worked into tools. These flints, still found on any casual walk in the...More

Late now I now but an exhibition featuring women in prehistoric times, the general theme of this museum was really interesting. So much to see and such a pleasant calm atmosphere. The new build blends in so well, and the enormous statues outside are a...More

Interesting museum with information about the ruined chateau it is housed within. For us though, the highlight was the prehistoric collections. Great stuff.

When you hear "prehistory" some of the family's eyes will glaze over, but just get them inside and I feel sure they will find something to interest them. It's in a beautiful setting, being incorporated into an old chateau, but impressively restored with the biggest...More

Kids loved this prehistoric museum / it's been refurbished to a super high standard. Kids and parents loved it. You have to make sure you enjoy some of the workshops and demos which they run - brilliant. Lots to do around the village also. Well...More

Although I'm not too interested in museums or things prehistoric, I couldn't help but admire how the ruins of the Chateau had been rebuilt with a modern twist which somehow seemed to accentuate the old. Very well laid out and although no English notices, the...More

We loved the wooly mammoth and the pre-historic elk! No cafe, but a huge picnic area and lovely gardens.

I appreciate people we have spoken to do not like the new building attached to the old chateau but I think it looks excellent facilities are good too, as well as the grounds and car park spacious. And what a location.
