Visited on Thursday 3rd May. We made a particular point of stopping to check it out. It is now closed to road traffic and you are free to walk across and marvel at this amazing suspension bridge.

A great place to take the kids, stretch you legs, have a bite to eat & enjoy the scenery of the waiau river while trying to spot trout.

Great place to stop and stretch your legs. Historic bridge is interesting with information boards and in good condition. Mobile cafe serves great coffee and cake.

Free and easy to get to. Worth a quick stop to check it out. There is a toilet here and picnic area. Bridge and information boards give history of the bridge and area

My husband is an engineer so he loves this sort of structure, and over the years I have also fallen into the category of appreciating what went into making these structures. Great little coffee shop also situated there.

For those interested in such things, this is an impressive piece of engineering. It's free to visit with a nice picnic spot alongside.
