We took the number 6 local bus from the north gate of lijiang ancient town to Baisha Village. It is fairly small but the atmosphere is lively! There is people playing music and the square was alive with sellers

As we drove into Baisha, the snow capped mountain had to be photographed. Then into the car park where my heart fell upon seeing lots of big tourist buses - but it turned out we saw none of their passengers who apparently went to jade...More

An easy 25 minute bike ride away from Banyan Tree hotel Lijiang. Great bike ride to kill a few hours. If you're lucky (like we were) you'll be visiting this little town between tour busses (we had the little town for ourselves). Didn't stay long,...More

It was part of our visit to an Embroidery School. Quaint old buildings but every thing else was very touristy. If you enjoy people watching and wandering in and out of shops, then you will enjoy yourself.

Lovely old town not yet destroyed by mass tourism. Lots of little shops selling about anything, an embroidery school and if you want a witch doctor dabbling as a calligrapher. forgot, there is also a nice old temple.

Definitely worth visiting, we came by taxi from the black dragon pond park for around 40 RMB, and back to Lijiang on bus 6 for 1 RMB. The town is very different from Lijiang, less touristy. Recommend to visit the Mao café!

Worth a visit on he way back from Jade mountain but maybe 30-60 minutes tops. Not so many tourists go here and it’s basically an 80-90 year old Chinese functional village. Plenty of goats, sheep and cattle and their associated poo, so tread carefully. (10%...More
