We visited this church while touring the lovely village. It is very old and has several interesting features including the tympanum at the entrance. I recommend a stop inside if you are walking through Carennac.

This church is within the chateau of the pretty town of Carennac, and if you are in the area, you should stop by to see this beautiful church and its intricately-carved main entrance (or the tympanum).

What I liked most about this church, apart from the grand doorway and elaborately-carved tympanum, is the austerity of its Romanesque interior. This is in stark contrast with the Gothic cloisters, which are also a must-see. Although entry to the church is free, to access...More

This church and the village itself are a must if you are anywhere in the region. Just a stunning town with great history and obvious civic pride. Loved it!

The church is a great example of Romanesque architecture, and the Medieval village which surrounds it is fantastic. Carennac is listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Village of France". Wandering through the streets is quite delightful.

This Romanesque church from the 12th century provides a glimpse into the early history of this lovely village. The church is well perserved and is a worthwhile visit. It is also cool on a hot day and dry on a wet one.
