Visited the beach as we stayed at a nearby resort. It was very different from our last visit in December 4 years ago. The water was choppy and the waves can be quite strong but people still went into the water and also board-surfing. Swimmers...More

The sunset view at this beach is mesmerizing. The wave is not too strong, so is nice to have a walk along the beach and get hit by the wave. One negative side is that the beach is a bit dirty especially during low tide....More

We wen to KATA BEACH a few times while being in Phuket. I was expecting a clean beach but I was really shocked to see dirty beaches here. Phhuket is really a nice and clean small city but the beaches are really dirty. I think...More

I'd describe Kata as a no frills beach. There's the beach, expensive beach beds, some water activities and that's about it. The sand was okay. The water was not clear since the waves are quite strong.

We have spent a day i the sun on Kata beach. The beach is a stunning beach with dream like surroundings and scenary. With its quiet and relaxed atmosphere it is in sharp contrast to Patong Beach with pushy beach sellers, and very crouded. Gi...More

Lovely white sand beach that is calmer than Karon Beach because sheltered in a bay. The water quality was very smirky. Lots of boats being launched just outside the flagged swimming area.

Much quieter than Patong without so much commercialisation. Hence we found it to be more relaxing and tranquil. Plenty of spots around to get refreshments.

Just make sure you swim in the designated swimming area. Look for the "swim here" flags. No one bothered us. It can get hot during summer so bring shades or you can rent them at the beach.

Good wave size that varied each day. Great for learning to surf (where you can hire boards on the beach). White sand, clear waters with fish for snorkelling. There was some rubbish but over the few weeks of staying on the beach, I witnessed some...More

If you are traveling alone, I would recommend you to stay in one small hotel with 3/2 stars because of the cheap pricing, you can find nice hotels here or in some other applications. If you go to Kata I would definitely... More
