I visited Lake Bacalar during Martin Luther King's holiday weekend, back in January. It was a solo trip, perfect to kick off the year. Rented a car in Cancun and off I went. The little town of Bacalar is part of the designated 'pueblos magicos'...More

A true definition of paradise. Views of the 7 color lagoon is like no other. Shades of Aquamarine, Jade, Royal Blue, Emerald, Turquoise, Cobalt, & Saphire. So much beauty and full of tranquility. Where strolling through the lagoon is just a dream of reality.

It is like one massive cenote and so breathtaking g! Well worth the 2.5 hour from tulum. Best off going to Los rápidos for more remote views!

Incredibly beautiful surroundings and our family loved swimming in the warm clear waters. Simply amazing and a must see part of Mexico! We visited while stopped in at Costa Maya on a Royal Caribbean cruise.

This is a small paradise on earth. Surrounded by lovely small hotels (all price ranges) and delicious restaurants, it's all you need for a perfect getaway. Few mosquitoes, lots of sun and pristine waters.

The views are stunning, there are lots of restaurants and bars overlooking the lake, and lots of opportunity to take a boat ride on the incredible blue waters.

It may look like it is a bit out of the way, but it is well worth the trip and it is not as far a it looks. The roads in Quintana Roo (and the Yucatan Peninsula) are pretty good and not very crowded.

Hi! Yes, you can stop over in Tulum. Tulum have lot to see and places for you experience like the mayas ruins, cenotes and beautiful beach. A full day over at the lake will be good enough.
