There are two lakes here that are close together - Lake Neangar and Lake Tom Thumb. Located in the Eaglehawk precinct and developed as a recreation area in 1883, these lakes provide a natural wilderness to explore. The circuit path around Lake Neangar is sealed and lit at night. There is also a more natural and informal circuit path around Lake Tom Thumb.

There are paths and it's quite picturesque... it's a great place to go for a walk and stretch your legs.

Just out of Bendigo, Eaglehawk. A nice country town. I looked up Lake Tom Thumb to throw a line. Great bush setting fed by Lake Nurangan. A couple of mud Marlains (Carp) A couple of small redies (Redfin). Relaxing, quiet spot. Town has supermarket, chemist, pub and takeaway food.

Lake Tom Thumb, along with Lake Neangar, has a great walking track around it....great place for a wander in the sunshine checking out the bird life and views across the lake as you go.

Great place to go for a walk in the sun, as you can enjoy the bird life while walking on a good flat path.

Beautiful lake in a natural setting. Walking tracks around it. Great place for walking dogs. Often people fishing there. Swans, Ibis, parrots , orher wildlife. I once had the joy of seeing some penny baby turtles crossing the path to the lake. Peaceful & relaxing.
Have seen some amazing sunsets & sunrises here. Love it.

years ago this place was simply a water hole. But effort has been put into making it a pleasant place to sit and ponder or walk around.
Well worth a visit today
