My wife and I have been here many times and sadly this will be our last visit to this beach. With the constant smell of marijuana and people trying to sell it to you at every turn from the parking lot, the bar, with your food, marijuana edibles, you feel like this is a drug beach.
People smoking it IN the water, in their lounge chairs, walking around everywhere and many people smoking it multiple times a day. I get that it’s been de-criminalized, but hey people are on vacation and it is just Everywhere. People come to the islands for a multitude of reasons and to enjoy the waters and snorkeling, I would imagine is probably number one. Not to have this constantly in your face and nostrils all day long.
The loud rap music with the disgusting N word, calling women the B word and hoes, made this once beautiful beach a thug beach.
I would imagine as tourism opens up around the globe and Coki Beach loses its appeal and when business and profits finally drop, maybe the people will get it. Whatever has been decrimalized might have it’s place but the beach with paying tourists, isn’t it.

We have been coming to Coki Beach every year for over 15 years now. This is always on our list of “to do” items. The water is absolutely beautiful and full of color, although the beach area is somewhat small. Plenty to eat, and drink. Great snorkeling right off the beach. We like to go on a week day when no cruise ships are in. Tends to fill up with locals and can get a bit rowdy on weekends, especially later in the day. Ask for my man “Webb” when you get there. He will make sure you have plenty to eat and drink and keep an eye on you!

Our visit to the beach could have been better. As it was smoky and some trash on the beach itself. The location itself was convenient as it is next to Coral World.

Loved the beach. Able to rent chairs, umbrella, food service brought to you. The view and water was perfect; crystal clear, beautiful shades of blue. Snorkeled, walkable beach, not too crowded

Nice beach but on the smaller side. Restaurant on site with beach service is a nice add. Parking is $5 and it's real close to the beach.

This is the spot if you’re looking to party, have convenience of food and drink brought to you, want to rent umbrellas and chairs, have shopping on beach, and want to get lessons for your kids. THIS IS THE SPOT TO GET CATERED TO— aka loud, lots of human interaction. Very disappointed by cleanliness. Cig butts in the sand and families from Disney cruise left cups and bottles behind (shame on you!). Restaurants used styrofoam. Jewelery makers and braiders were a bit pesty. Parking $5 chairs and umbrella $25– Catch of the Day lobster with corn and potato was pretty damn good. Mahi was over-fried but totally hit the spot.

This beach was fun as hell. The food and drink shacks were great and the people who worked them. Enjoyed ourselves on this beach. If you aren't prepared to party-then this isn't your beach...if you party-this is a must do!!!

This beach was very nice. It has a little more gravel in the sand than other places. But we definitely enjoyed our time there & not as crowded as other beaches. We went there twice while we were there.

This is by far one of the best snorkeling beaches in St Thomas!
Yes, it is an upbeat beach with music playing and plenty of people throughout the day, but it gets busy because it's just a great beach! The sand is soft, there are shade trees along the edge by closer to the scuba shop and if you get there early enough, you can snag a place under them. There are vendors that will rent chairs and umbrellas.
The snorkeling is just great. You can see so much in just a small area along the sides. Go out a little further and around the corner (toward Coral World) and there's even more to see. It's an easy snorkel and not very deep at all. In the grassy area in the middle, you can still find interesting critters and I followed a decent sized octopus the day I was there.
There is a place to get food (burgers and wraps) and drinks, but the service is very slow and they only accept cash.
There is a dive shop located here if you want to try diving. They are amazing people!
I highly recommend this beach for snorkeling or diving.

Fish everywhere close to shore!! Very beautiful beach. Walking distance from Margaritaville St Thomas—free shuttle provided to and from hotel! Rental chairs and umbrellas. Water clear. Little sea weed. Friendly atmosphere! Rentals nearby.

We'll be staying in St. Thomas for 2 weeks in January. Does it make more sense to rent a vehicle or taxi around?

Are there restaurants and bars at coki beach?

Yes, they serve things like pizza, hamburgers, chicken and alcohol + beer.
They also rent chairs and umbrella's, we paid $20.00 usd for 2 lounge chairs and 1 umbrella. It's fun there, they have the music going and it gets really crowded if the cruise ships come in. So try and go on a day when the ships aren't docking. The front desk should be able to tell you when they come in.

I was largely un impressed with the beaches on St. Thomas but St. John was incredible. We took a ferry over there that took like 10 minutes or something and then rented a jeep. It was the best day we had on our trip for sure. Probably went to 5 or 6 beaches that were all amazing and most had very few people. The hiking on St. John was also amazing.

How steep and narrow is the road to get to the beach? And how long of a drive from the Port?

It took about 25 mins by bus and the road was windy but a main road so wide enough to pass cars without being too scary.
If on a cruise, can you take a taxi to this beach?

Heading out on 1st cruise at the end of August and heard Coki beach was a great place to go off snorkeling on our own (mom, dad, 9yr old, 7yr old; all are decent swimmers). Do we need fins or water shoes... or is the beach/ocean floor safe for bare feet?

Bare feet are fine but keep in mind there are still rocks... we used water shoes on part of the beach

We have been to Coki a lot over the years but have not been there since the hurricane came through. Due to arrive there August 25th. Did the beach change that much? Don’t remember lots of rocks and seaweed. Only beautiful beach.
