We used the cable-car to reach the summit and from there you can choose from many sign-posted walking paths of various duration to various destinations. We decided to visit one of the Huts offering refreshment and then onward down to the Haldensee. That was quite challenging (we're old) but we made it and enjoyed the amazing scenery on the way.

Neunerkopfle is the "hausberg" of Tannheim. It can be reached via various hiking paths check openstreetmap.org for hiking routes or by cable car. The Summit is about 800m above the valley floor. There are also three launching sites for paragliding (W/N/SE). From the cable car you can hike to the three lakes, very worthwhile. ONe way ticket is 15 EUR

If you really can't exert yourself than go ahead and buy a ticket up and back but this is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Alps with trails everywhere so go hike, climb, bike and make you heart work a bit. Take a look down and around and enjoy the fact YOU accomplished something and on the way down stop at a huette (hut) and have a beer or schnaps...enjoy.

Breathtaking views from the top of the mountain. We travelled up and down the mountain with the cable cars. On the way up it is also possible to see the hiking trail going down the mountain.

On the top of the mountain there is a very nice restaurant where we enjoyed a cold beer and some local dishes while chatting to some of the other tourists who were resting a bit before continuing on their hike in the mountains.

Great experience! Recommended.

Tip - if you are staying in a hotel or Inn nearby, ask them for a parking ticket to avoid paying for parking at the bottom of the mountain! This ticket also got us some discount on the cable car rides to the top.
