I went on a few hours trip on the Rømø Island, the most impressive was a huge beach at the Wadden Sea. You can drive there with your own car, don't worry, you won't get stuck in the sand!

Stretching south from Fano off the coast of Denmark down through Germany, the Wadden Sea is a stunning shallow coastal sea with lots of sand banks and mud flats giving breeding grounds to many bird species.
Great views on the boat ride over from Esbjerg to Fano, and travelling along the Danish coastline.
Great spots for picnics and watching the sunsets.
Swimming is possible - though its very cold!!!
Excellent place to spend a quiet few days in Denmark.

We dont have to many, if any places in North-America who could rival this sight. Not only is it unusual but it is also teaming with birds and other sea related creatures. I would strongly recommend a walk in the mud, yes, you read that correctly, in the mud, its extremely beneficial for circulation in your feet/legs. I have done it many, many times. Of course one has to wait for the tide to go out. And by tche way, don't miss the SUNSET, awesome!

The views of the Wadden Sea were beautiful and the sunsets were insane. Clean, peaceful and quiet in April.

This place offers the visitors a lot of knowledge about the Wadden Sea with displays of almost anything in connection with the very special environment around the Wadden Sea. Experience it for yourself!

Enjoyed the calm and cleanliness,
The sea is great!
Educational info in many places! Well signed and places to rest!
More nature based activities would be good.

This is a must for nature fans, vadehavet is just a gem, lots of ppl here and drive as far out as the eye can see, just endless sands and beach bunkers, this property is on the UNESCO protected national park.
The drive itself out here is pretty cool, though you got sand bunkers of both side, it is simply worth to see while in Rømø. How often can you actually park one car next to the beach, and just get out and enjoy it and see kids playing with their kits and swim as well ? Pretty unique place, dont miss out here, worth a visit and watch the sunset here as well is just breath taking.

We spent just a few hours on the island of Romo and regretted not having the time to spend longer. Approached by way of a long causeway/bridge from the mainland (via one of Denmark’s best preserved old towns, Ribe), the island is clearly a popular holiday destination for Danes and Germans with many holiday villages. But if you pass these and reach the coast to the west of Havenby, the scenery is amazing.
Aside from the fact that we’ve never seen such a large beach with so many vehicles and mobile homes parked/moving around on its firm surface, there are also great areas for sand karting, horse/pony riding and many other sports. Being with a rental car, we decided not to drive onto the sand (perhaps over-cautious). But walk to the dunes and you begin to see the variety of bird life along the shores. Beautiful – not be missed on any tour of Denmark.

Hello,
Is there any admittance fee to visit the park?
Hello! IT is completely free to visit the park - only the various visitor centres have entrance fees. You can learn more about the park on the nationalpark website: nationalparkvadehavet . dk
Best wishes

Bonjour,
Y a t-il des choses à voir en février? Est-ce facile d’accès? Des visites guidées?
Merci d’avance,
Bonjour!
There are always things to see and do in the park, I would suggest that you have a look at the websites of our partners - The Wadden Sea Centre, The Martime and Fisheries Museum, Varde Museum (Natur Kultur Varde), Naturcenter Tønnisgard, Museum Sønderjylland, Sydvestjyske Museer (you can find the rest on nationalparkvadehavet dk) Many have oyster tours and some have birding tours and other interesting tours then. While i cannot guarantee any will have French language tours, most can speak English, and many also German. The Wadden Sea is easily accessible, but please be aware of the tides. The information centres i listed above can help you with information about those as well.
We hope you have an enjoyable visit.
Best regards

grazie
Dear Elisa,
There are direct busses to Esbjerg, from where you can visit the island of Fanø, which is one of the beautiful islands in the national park - 12 mins by ferry from the harbour which is within walking distance from the bus station. You can also travel North out of Esbjerg towards Hjerting and up to Ho Bugt - where the Wadden Sea begins. Or South to the beautiful town of Ribe. You can find information on the Visit Esbjerg website

Hallo,
ik zou volgend jaar graag vakantie willen maken in Denemarken en het nationalpark leek mij erg mooi. Ik vroeg me alleen af of honden (aan de riem) toegestaan zijn in het nationalpark
