We visited it during wintertime, which is better than in summer when the place is too crowded. Very interesting, traditional orthodox monastery from the XI century, there are some very nice frescoes and icons in the church. The parking is paid.

There were many restoration works going on during our visit. Lot of building materials on the courtyard, but the church with frescos was really impressive. It would be good to have there a guide. Entry is for free. Parking fee: 2BGN. There is a restaurant and...More

The monastery is made up of two different churches in style and a monastic ensemble. I recommend you go with a guide because there are many stories to hear.

The building itself is beautiful from an angle but all together it's not so special. Make sure to stop at Eden's Fortress, it's much more beautiful and right on the road to the monastery!

Worth visiting when you're passing by. There's 2 leva parking fee. What I was really happy with is that there are a lot of food stalls on the way to the monastery. You can buy a lot of cheap, but great quality home-made products :).

This large monastery has a scenic location and is impressive in its own right. Moreover, the church is spectacular, both inside and out. The frescos are perfect!
