After the dinner we went inside the castle house to see the rooms and the animals, it was very good experience, especially the Greek mythology room and the living room, very traditional and historical, inside the house you can see more than 20 different species...More

Cool if you like the authenticity of staying in an 18th century chateau. We like that sort of thing and prefer that to a hotel or B&B whenever we can. Detenice isnt as nice as some of the chateaux in France but is is nice...More

Well renovated and well-equipped castle surrounded by a large garden / park. Tour led by Giselda (local witch) was funny, spooky, but still sophisticated (not to frighten the visitors, especially children, to death). Do not miss the garden (great to lay in the grass and...More

The tour takes you through 10 rooms in the castle with a Czhech-speaking guide. The provided English text is boring. It's not really recommended if you don't speak the language, especially if you are with little kids.

The castle is very nice renovated, everything is clean and spacious. There is a nice garden as well. Good idea to visit it before/after the well-known medieval pub.

After the successful reconstruction, well maintained. Adjacent small garden has also good care. In the paddock are ostriches and on the opposite side is Baba Jaga house :-D The cafe is on the left side of the chateau.

Castle offers a nice show during weekend specially for the kids. Show in the park is full of fairy tales and the castle itself has a fun review with witches, devils and alike.

After having seen a few medieval movies, one will enjoy seeing the show life! Various knights on horses are competing against each other, collecting points in every round. Due to the popularity of this place on weekends, they made the show free of charge midweek...More

The castle looks very average from outside, it does get more interesting once you are in but it is not quite a typical castle you would expect. There is not much to do in Detenice if you come for an overnight stay, so once you...More
