Been seeing this every year, but not knowing how to get there. Finally spotted sign on main road adjacent army base. Decided to visit, wife and I left friends on beach and went up in car. So glad we did. Not a great deal left...More

The Castle itself is a ruin on the hills above Kardamena. The views are spectacular but there is little literature on hand to give any background on the castle or its history.

Great views across the sea.... nobody else there.... there is a guy at entrance that will offer you water and a quick shot of ouzo (small donation) go for it.... walk around and soak up the vistas... great off the beaten track place to spend...More

When you drive ut towards the Castle it gives you a majastic impression. But inside there is hardly not much to see- except the church - which was closed. So sad there has'nt been put any money into maintenance. No signs with explanations anywhere. Free...More

Had a car and drove up to see the castle. They had recently been a bush fire and it was all scorched. It looks like this was once a chargeable place but now it's free. There isn't much to see but it's nice to walk...More

The fort is realle huge. 1 small cathedral is open for public. The big cathedral was locked. The rest of the old buildings are literally ruins. The walls are mainly intact. With some holes and gaps and pieces out. Safety? It a freakin old ruin...More
