Recently stayed in the self catering cottages which are set on the hillside surrounded by beautiful flora. The hiking trails are well marked and provided a variety of terrain and there is much to see from curious insects to birds and flowers plus stunning views.

Stunning spacious cottages with incredible views from all rooms and living areas & a great indoor fireplace. Our 4-year old kids loved hiking to the swing ( a big hit!) and the climbing tree. Brilliant location for exploring the Stanford surrounds. We'll definitely be back...More

The very spacious and comfortable cottages gave us a nice base from which to explore the beautiful hikes, mountains, bushmen paintings, waterfalls, kloofs and flora. We had all our children and grandchildren together for a memorable and happy time.

We spent a few wonderful days as a family in the cottages at Phillipskop. The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious, with beautiful views and a lovely sunny deck. We went as an extended family and fitted 16 people (6 kids in that) in two...More

Thanks Brad. The chalets do provide that bit of extra space compared to many places, which enables us to permit a couple of extra kids to stay without the accommodation feeling overcrowded.

We went for a day visit to hike and enjoy the flowers and it was enjoyed by the whole group. Some did the shorter loop to the Rock Stacks via the Waterfall and returned via Castle Rock. The rest of us went on to the...More

So glad you enjoyed the hike and especially the fynbos. It is quite amazing how far one can see from the top on a clear day.

We stayed here for 3 nights, and had a fantastic time. The cottages are very spacious, with three large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, big lounge and kitchen (all open-plan), and deck overlooking the farm-land below. It was very peaceful and quiet (even though there were guests...More

Great that you enjoyed your time - we try and make the place suit many different ages. We agree about the Klein River Cheese, it is wonderful to have such good neighbours just down the road.

Phillipskop Mountain Reserve is situated on a beautiful mountainside covered in unspoilt Fynbos about 10km's outside Stanford off the R326. The walk to the cave takes about an hour, depending on your level of fitness, and about another hour back. I would recommend a sturdy...More

Glad you enjoyed the walk Lin. People often ask us how long it is to get to the cave but I think you have summed it up nicely.
