Always fun, except for "grumpy gramps" at the outside bar. Bathroom could use a little TLC. Good mix of locals and tourists. Tables in need of repair as ours almost fell down when we pulled out the chair that was propping it up!!

We recently spent 2 weeks in Barbados and discovered one of the best casual outdoor restaurants on the Island. McBrides in St. Lawrence Gap.
The food is consistant and tastes great, the price is very reasonable and the staff are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is to your liking. We recommended McBrides to several people at our resort and they were all more than pleased. We visited the restaurant several times during our stay. The Creamy Garlic Shrimp starter is "the Best". As a fish lover my husband found the variety of ways it was prepared wonderful. Their "Drunken Chicken" entree was surperb.

This place is out of business. Signage still up but it is not longer in business so sorry for all the other reviews. Would have been good to go on ST Pats day...

As an Irishman I feel obliged, no compelled to write a review about this establishment which delights in "paddy whackery" and I'm afraid lacks any semblance of what an Irish bar should be. Many many aspects of the bar were cringeworthy but the most noticeable was a Glasgow Rangers football shirt having pride of place above the bar - this must be a first for an Irish bar!!!

Went to McBrides on a Sunday eve 19.00ish.
We took an inside seat under the a/c good start.
It was very dull I struggled to read the menu, few more lights wouldn't go miss.
I understand this is to give atmosphere later in the eve for the young crowd but lights do have switches.
Anyhow got the grub ordered and it arrived in good time. The starters were very good I had garlic mushrooms and the wife had potato skins. Mains were Open top burger and drunkin chicken also flawless. So food spot on then.
Service pretty much vanished. There were only two other tables ! Luckily we had no room for desert although a coffee would have been nice.
We paid out bill and I got another beer (2 for 1 happy hour) We played a game of pool to kill some time and to be honest the place was only dragging us down to the depressed Level of the staff.
Most were sitting on the outside benches heads down looking like they had just done a day in Iraq. The reggae bar next door was blasting out a load of sh1t that overpowered the backround music in McBrides.
3beers/2coke 2 starters and mains 72USD
I wouldnt bother going back as there are countless food places on the island that don't charge 7Bar Dollars a beer depress you and give you a head ace. I would order take out from here do.
We left and dropped into cafe on Sol on the way to the bus stop and we were immediately lifted from the deep depression. Mush better vibe place buzzing , Big friendly Bar Tender (Francis) made our drinks and filled us in on the bus timetable

Only went in for a couple times 2 for 1 drinks.. Staff was friendly would go back if its still there next time It was closed last year and up for sale again.

My husband and I go here every time we visit Barbados. Usually more than once. I personally enjoyed myself every time we went. The music is awesome and the drinks are even better. NOTHING beats the food truck a few steps away in front of Sugar Ultra Lounge. After a fun night in the gap, drinks galore, nothing beats a little meal from that place. My husband gets the burger and I get fish and chips.. I always have fun at this place!

This venue was billed as an Irish pub. What Irish pub does not sell draught Guinness? The place was a disappointment. The food was moderate, the service indifferent and the drink on offer limited. Best avoided.

Didn't enjoy McBrides. It was a bit dirty. Didn't have a band the night I was there so the crowd was very sparse.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your experience at McBride's. However it seems you were there right before it was closed for a much-needed renovation. We remained closed for over 6 months durning the renovation, after which time we, the owners, took it back over form our previous tenant and have revamped the menu, dining areas, dance floor etc and now have many night with live bands and DJ nights. We hope you'll give the "new" McBride's a try if you're in Barbados again.
