You need to take this as it is. Very cheesy but fun. The crew had you up clapping and dancing but only if you wanted to. They did put head scarves on the children and then wanted money from the parents. They put on a show which wasn’t too bad. The food was ok. You could jump off the boat into the sea which was very refreshing. At the end they did come round for tips but that is how they make their living out there. All I can say is that we enjoyed it and had a laugh.

Good fun, really put in a great show. Gets very busy and the strongman event was good.

Take money- drinks are not included in your voucher and after being in the sea, you will need a drink, plus they go round with a hat for tops afterwards and aren’t afraid of approaching you one by one.

I did pirate ship excursion 2nd time after 5 years in Dec.2023 It was worth the time and money. It is a good to do family activity at Hammamet. Do not reply on food taste and quality, but it is OK. Carry your own water bottles.
Sea swimming can be an event to remember.

It was a bad experience, the boat looked from the pirate era. The so BBQ lunch was bland spaguetti, grilled fish, breqd ( i did not have the corague to eat it) the show.. well... a man lay onbroken glass and the next show was life fire on the wooden boat!!. Also drinks are not provided so you will need to pay for that., they also give you a bandana and then ask for 10Dn for it and a bird with clipped winds tor a pic..Dont waste you money.

We had an absolutely fantastic time, and we were well entertained for the 3.5hr trip. We'll worth the money if you like a bit of light-hearted tongue in cheek corny humour.
The weather and sea swimming was really good too.
Others have commented on the food (which seemed OK for free food), the price of drinks (4dinar or £1 for a can of lemonade) the upselling of a pirate bandana (cost 10dinar approx £2.50), the optional pirate photos (cost 10dinar approx £2.50) and the asking for tips (like most trips nowdays, but there was no pressure - but you donate what you can afford, and if you don't want to, you don't donate anything - simple!).
So we are really not sure what all the moaning reviews are going on about, as we had a fantastic time, enjoyed the onboard entertainment and found everything onboard good value for money.

Fantastic trips booked with Captain Jack Boat trip. Camel ride was a wonderful experience we will never forget, we met all the people who worked on the boat they were such fun and friendly we didn't want the day to end, you could swim in the beautiful blue ocean everyone was jumping of the boat into the sea it was fantastic. We will treasure our memories. We booked a camel ride with Captain Jack Wow what a day such a magical experience. My son loved his day it made me feel so happy to see him having a camel ride and experiencing there wonderful culture. We feel privileged to have these memories to treasure.

Firstly, be wary of hotel reps recommending this excursion as a “quiet, relaxing offshore retreat”. Me and my boyfriend were anxious after reading reviews, however we decided to give it a try as we were assured we would be “left to do our own thing”...this was not the case! As we boarded the tacky and overcrowded pirate ship, we realised we were not in for a relaxing trip. Pirate actors swung in from the masts like Tarzan and demanded everyone to start clapping, music was blasted out from speakers even with very young children aboard. There was the opportunity however to go swimming off the coast, though we decided not to join in considering safety was not the main priority - people would leap and dive off the top deck onto others swimming below, to add to this problem, the decks became very slippery as people came back in from the sea to do the same dangerous stunt again.
Despite the fact that we were told “food would be provided” in the price we paid, this was untrue as you had to pay for half a baguette and a bottle of water. To top it all off, the Captain Jack impersonators would demand tips from everyone - don’t even bother wasting your ‘plunder’ on this terrible day out.
If I could rate this 0 out of 5 I would.

Do not recommend.

Very noisy and rowdy. The animators want people to join in. Not relaxing at all.

Go on a private boat ride instead, don't waste your money to the pirates!

We have done many of these all over the world, this was the worst. Lucky to get a drink, only water or coke. Overcrowded. Is all about paying for extras. Food cooked onboard by filthy hands holding cigarettes. Coach transfer twice as ling as time onboard the boat. Would avoid onboard toilet..eww. Pirate staff asked us if we wanted to buy drugs from them. Would not recommend

The price was amazing value for money, you got spaghetti, meat, salad and bread as well as water included in the price, with the option to buy other food and ice creams/soft drinks. Half way round they stop for around 30 minutes for food and you can jump from the ship into the sea! It was fantastic to jump in, or you can climb down the stairs in too.
The pirates were superb, they got everyone on their feet, it was like a party ship! They took photos as they went round that you can buy, or just ask for one on your phone.
Would definitely go again!
