Great experience with the family who are primary students to give them more information about Jose Rizal house where he stays during hes young age. We also got the chance to see Jose Rizals furniture and personal stuff. As well as their kitchen stuff that it's been more than 9 decades past. Hope to be back again on this place

Visiting Calamba in Laguna Province won't be complete without dropping by the place where the country's national hero was born. It's a reconstructed and renovated copy of the original house, but it still gives you a glimpse into the lifestyle at that time. The house itself has only a few original furniture left, but there are galleries both on the ground floor and in the adjacent building that provide you with more info about Jose Rizal. The place is not really that big. An hour would suffice to see it. I just hope that they would have a reserved parking space for visitors.

We went here with school kids. They had a lot of fun and learning about the past life of Rizal and his family. The only problem here was the they don’t have any parking area. We only parked on side street. But still, that was just a minor issue. All the rest of our experience here great bonding and fun.

Rizal's childhood home.
Honestly my first time to visit even though i took all those Rizal subjects back in High School and College.
I think its great, especially for the younger ones, to be able to know what Dr. Rizal went through to inspire our freedom. Additional question is whether he's be proud if he sees us and the Philippine society today, or would he shake his head in unbelief?

The house is well preserved. It is smaller than I thought.
For lovers of old houses, they will enjoy the visit for sure.

If you’re interested in Filipino history this is a great place to visit and learn about the life of Jose Rizal. The site is not that large but it is fairly well maintained and informative.

Rizal Shrine is a must to appreciate the high ideals of every Filipino. Rizal bust in the souvenir shop is a million worth as a souvenir to every friend, home, officemates and constituents. For a minimum fee, you will be reminded of your wonderful experience of the Shrine. Truly a life worth living for.

Wow what a well kept place after a simple registration at the entrance (as I was a Foreigner) I was free to explore, even though the entrance fee was free you could give a donation, of course, a place like this relies on kind donations so we all can enjoy, it was just like stepping back in time, with lots of well-kept rooms to see and documents to read, I spent a good 2 hours here ending with a nice relaxing sit in the well looked after garden area, as we all know Jose Rizal can still be found on the 1 Php coin so why not drop some in the water well prior to leaving.

I understand that photography is not allowed inside the museum? This is the age of Instagram where people post pictures of the places they visit and consequently promote the place for free. So, I would suggest photography without flash be allowed inside the museum. Thanks

We are planning to visit Enchanted Kingdom after visiting Rizal Shrine. How do we commute from Rizal Shrine to EK? There’s just two of us, my husband and I. Thanks. 😊

from EK take a tricycle to the Sta. Rosa Town and take a jeep going to Calamba. If you rode the Crossing Calamba, you can take tricycle to Rizal's place
