Found only due to mention on trip advisor. I couldn't find a dedicated website. Renovated and maintained by volunteers , this is not a flashy attraction. We were welcomed by a single volunteer late one Monday afternoon who gave us the run of the place and was most informative about the garden renovations and the building. Not clear when it is open apart from weekends . Lots of historical explanations but principally in French. Never come across a commanderie before in all my visits to France.…

Historical place in this part of Coulommiers, really well reconstructed. A nice place to visit, rich in historical details. A must see

The Commanderie of the Knights Templar in Coulommiers is being restored, after almost being destroyed. Begun in the 12th century, the headquarters consists of château-like setting with a chapel, commander’s house, barn, cellars, chapter house, and several other buildings. Outside the fortified walls is a large medieval herbal garden and orchard containing many plants used for medicine and food in the 15th century.…
