Amazing sculpture from single rock. A work of ancient times with beautiful architecture. In the premises of Mahabalipuram monument.

The first thing we sw on arrival was the carved stone fresco. I thought it was modern sculpture until our guide explained it's antiquity. That, and everything else we saw - more frescos, monoliths, and caves - were astonishing. A 'must see'.

We decided to visit it between 7:00-10:00 AM. Good decision because we were almost alone and if you love photos is really the time to take pictures. In case you didn't read a lot about this Historical Site, ask for a professional guide and enjoy it....More

Include this in your tour of the temple carvings in the area. Together they show a fascinating history of carving into the granite rock faces and boulders.

There are many attractions in Mahabalipuram which are near to each other. This attraction is one of them. Varaha Cave has impressive carvings of Hindu Gods. No entry fee was there for this attraction. Photography is also allowed.

The cave temple is a great example of Indian architecture. Like the other sculptures, this is also awesome.

The Varaha Cave Temple is inside the Monuments at Mahabalipuram. It's not very big, but you can see the work on the walls. Quite impressive.
