The mighty fort of the mighty emperor Chartapathi Shivaji, this is a great looking historical monument. It is located on the borders of two different districts. The extreme end of the fort, where executions were carried out marks the beginning of the adjacent district.

History lovers already aware this fort for King Shivaji's victory over Afzalkhan. Fort was clean and well maintained. It was bit overcrowded many times. Food & beverages are available at the base as well as on the top of the fort.

Excellent fort. Unbelievable to imagine the effort and determination offered to build this fort during those days. It's a must visit and an easy access if someone visits Mahabaleshwar hills.
