Hagartsin monastery in my opinion is the Quinn of Armenian monasteries. Nice quite location on to of the mountain. The main road goes true the forest area. It just marvelous try when you are in Armenia and you won't regret.

We spent about an hour at the Monastery and like most in Armenia it is pretty basic but also powerful. Well worth a visit.

It was like I was taken back in the medieval period and found a hidden monastery in the middle of the forest... Totally enchanting and the place is very ideal for solemn prayer activities...

This 11th century monastery is set in a gorge above a mountain stream and surrounded by a forest of mature oaks. The monastery and the surrounding area is quite peaceful and serene.

I love this olace and that's it. I used to visit this place even before the renovation and loved it then. The nature, the road and the atmosphere of the Monastery is amazing.

Mandy: don't worry a bit about your knees, the monastery is directly on the road. Hardly any stairs at all. Tour buses were there, though I don't know if they were private or public transportation from town. Best bet is... More
