Just a fantastic (and cheap) experience for all ages (kids under 10 are free). A real medieval experience, walking the ramparts of this beautiful village. Highly recommended.

Located in a beautiful setting. Not too busy so able to walk along the quaint walkways and look in the souvenir shops. Would recommend a visit if in the area.

Some reviews of this attraction talk about the village in general, and I completely agree with anyone who says that Villefranche-de-Conflent is a real gem! However, the ramparts - which actually form the basis of UNESCO recognition ("Fortifications of Vauban") - are a slightly disappointing...More

We have been to many medieval villages in France, and this is one of the best. The completely walled village is charming, not at all honky-tonk, and the ramparts are fascinating. Just an incredible experience transporting you back a Millenium. And very easy to get...More

Quaint historic village within the walls of the old fort. Worth a visit while in the region, and don't miss the nearby caves.

A small village within castle walls from the Spanish skirmishes in the past, don't drive past without a stop
