Beautiful Rangitikei scenic walk and at the end a rare geological wonderland. Worth the trip. Take a picnic and watch the trout swimming. Swim in the Rangitikei river yourself!

I have lived in the Rangitikei all my life and never knew of this place. It is magical and definitely worth the trip. The downhill walk down pass the magnificent Rangitikei River definitely warrants taking your togs if the weather suits. Make sure you take a water bottle for the walk back up the hill!!! Hugely impressed with the toilet... More

This place was even more beautiful than I had imagined and definitely worth the trip! After arriving at the car park and paying the $5 fee at the honesty box, it is a 1.8km walk across some lovely farmland with the most spectacular views of the Rangitikei River before arriving at the boulders. The walk back up can be a... More

The two other reviews of this are exactly right about how great this place is to visit. You need to have at least an hour and half time free to do this. Just be aware that you have to turn left half way down Otara Road into Peka Road and this is a gravel winding road that takes you to... More

If you are travelling South on SH 1 just past Mangaweka and see some amazing white cliffs on your left hand side, take the time to drive off the beaten track for about 30 minutes, it is well worth it. This was an unexpected gem to be able to visit on private property. $5 cover charge was great value and... More

This hidden treasure is the best $5.00 pp you can spend on viewing a natural wonder. The drive to the car park is over a narrow gravel road but that in itself allows beautiful views of awesome countryside. Once at the car park it is an easy downhill walk across private farm land with more wonderful views. The boulders are... More
