St Michael’s is the parish church for Framlingham, and we have close links to All Saints Saxtead, an adjoining parish, north west of our small historic market town. The two parishes have historical links dating back to medieval times and have been a combined benefice under the patronage of Pembroke College, Cambridge since the college was given the lands and the patronage of the living by Sir Robert Hitcham in the 17th century. We are an open & welcoming community. The church is normally open from 9am-4pm. There is a mix of services on Sundays please see our website for details. On the second Sunday there is Parish Communion with Junior Church. On other Sundays the Tower Team meet to do children’s activities for part of the service.Team meet to do children’s activities during part of the service. At 4pm on the third Sunday of every month we have Alive@4 in St Michael’s Rooms. This is fun, fellowship, bible stories, activities, crafts & high tea. Baby Cafe Friday morning term time.

All I can say is take a good half hour to enjoy this amzing church. The information about the tombs is brilliant and you can buy a leaflet for 50p at each tomb. A real bit of history here.

Worth a visit when visiting the castle. The Dukes of Norfolk are buried in the church and have verge large stone tombs. The windows are beautiful and the organ is impressive.

Went in here as part of a town walk in Framlingham. Nice hammerbeam roof, an old and well restored/preserved medieval wall painting and good historical plaques around the church with info on some of the local families, history of the place, etc.

An interesting church, but intriguingly empty of a pre-Reformation element that can only now exist in the imagination. Evidence of priest holes, not only either side of the chancel, but also at the same level in both side aisles indicate that this church must once...More

The lovely and impressive church of St. Michaels stands at the very heart of this small market town. We visited after a somewhat disappointing visit to the nearby Norman Castle. There we felt we learned very little about the history of Framlingham. The church, however,...More

A lovely surprise once inside there is so much history. The tombs tell so many stories of our historical past. The local exhibition on those who served in the war was very well presented.
