Reasonable entry prices. Beautiful views from the walled walk and a great museum too. The gift shop staff were very helpful and all in all a great visit.

This is really worth the visit( English Heritage).History brought to life with a free (in the entry price) guide that is fun and informative to listen to. The staff/ volunteers are so informative and friendly .There e=were several exhibits too as well as the museum...More

Lovely visit on a gorgeous sunny day. Interesting tour around the castle with impressive grounds to sit and read or just chill if you like. Even the rowdy school visit didn’t spoil it for me

Very small castle which doesn’t take long to explore; however, if you visit on one of the English Heritage special days, you can catch some fantastic entertainment e.g. medieval drama, archery, singing etc. If you are good with heights, take the wall walk for lovely...More

I'm honestly not sure you can go inside the inner part. But you can explore the grounds with a dog

I saw dogs walking on the castle walls if that helps.
