A well-maintained property. Gives one a good idea of the lifestyle of the wealthy, especially those who were into hunting (with hounds) and all the pomp and pageantry. The rooms and animal stalls, etc are very well presented with audio and visual aids - exhibits...More

Off the beaten track and no one of the star attraction of the Lochois bu this probably explains the enormous amount of care and attention that has been paid to the grounds, chateau and exhibitions. Very well thought through and gives a really interesting insight...More

Chateau de Montpoupon is not as impressive as Chenonceau or Amboise. But it is not nearly as crowded and very nice to see.

If you are looking for a beautiful castle you can enjoy almost on your own this is the one for you. While not as grand as other castles it is very beautiful and the forest walk is worth doing if you have the time.
