This natural Onsen is amazing. Only accessible at low tide, you basically sit on the beach in the middle of nature. Be prepared to mingle with the locals. There is no building nearby. Nature pure.

This is must have experience visiting yakushima! The place is a bit harder to find than I expected, given that it's so famous in yakushima. But it your are traveling from the Oko-no-taki waterfall and back, It will be easy to miss the bus stop....More

Temperature is sweating warm. We stayed adjacent minsuku. Japanese food served at the minsuku is deliceous. Taking bath before and after hiking was fantastic. You need to donate 100 yen. Need a big towel.

Not sure what you mean by the washing area. There are a few bath tubs and people were just washing themselves using the hot water from the bath tubs. It is quite exposed (and tourists come and take photos) but don't be shy.
