Getting to the waterfall is quite easy, you just have to take one of the bus lines to the last stop. There's no entry fee, only a few vendors right by the entrance. Although the heavy rains prevented me from fully enjoying the other parts...More

大川の滝(okonotaki) in Japanese. Locating west of Yakushima, this is the last stop of the bus which means it takes quite long from most places. It's not crowded. When only four of us got off the bus and visited, there's no one else. It's a huge...More

Beautiful waterfall at the southern end of the island. A quick 10min stop in. You can climb the rocks at the base of the falls and get some great pictures!

You can get very close to the water at Oko no Taki Fall unlike the other 3 waterfalls in the south of Yakushima. On the sunny-cloudy day, the rocks were dry and easy to walk on to get closer to the fall. The view and...More

Situated on the southern side of Yakushima, access us either by car or bus. Nice waterfall, that's it! You could get very close, though.

Easy to get to by car, these wateralls are quite impressive, and you can get very close to them and "feel" the strength of water and nature. Strongly recommended!

Perhaps the fall was enhanced by the recent rain, but we were overwhelmed by the force hurtling down the mountain and hitting the pool and rocks at sea level. We caught the public bus to the waterfall from our base in Anbo (about 45 mins...More

It seemed a bit far to travel to the "9 o'clock" position on Yakushima but it was totally worth it. It takes about 85 minutes to drive clockwise from Miyanoura (the biggest town) to Ohko no Taki. I wouldn't do it by bus - you...More
