Zakimi castle is a little far away from downtown Naha, but it is worth the drive. The views from the castle are very nice and you can take some great pictures of this castle.

Zakimi castle is a good one, a good place to visit on a grey, damp dripping sort of day because you get to it through a lovely grove of Okinawa pine trees. It's not huge, but very neat and well-restored and somehow very satisfying. There's...More

I arrived here right on sunset so didn't quite get to spend as much time as I would have liked walking around. But it was well worth the effort of a visit. This castle is in quite good condition as extensive reconstruction appears to have...More

Though there's nothing more than ruined walls this castle really deserve at least a short visit. The walls have been well restored and the view from the edge is quite beautiful. As well as Shuri castle also Zakimi castle is a symbol of the Ryukyu...More

This was one of the better castle ruins we went to. Took lots of pictures, the weather, sky and backdrop was beautiful. Great spot for wedding pictures too, saw a couple doing wedding shots here.

This gusk(castle)was built in 1422 at the west middle coast of Ryukyu(Okinawa). You can see two ways piled up stone walls. It is pleasure that no admission fee is needed. Sunset must be beautiful from here. Some citizens picnic with bringing their lunch.

The castle ruins are not extensive, though the rather intact walls are impressive. What makes this site worth-while is the view of the surroundings and sea. If you're on your way north of Naha, this is a nice stop. No entrance fee.
